After several years of working in the Tourism Industry, I’ve become a Certified Massage Therapist and obtained a Diploma in Body Massage, giving me the opportunity to create my Bristol Massage Therapy.
Consequently, I expanded my knowledge and skills getting certifications for Deep Tissue and Trigger Point. I worked at Thermae Bath Spa and then I decided to focus my career as a solo-practitioner. Also, as part of my life, I enjoy travelling, riding bicycles, going to the gym and cooking healthy.
I got an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Body Massage and a Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology.
I have also done Continuing Professional Development and I have obtained the following:
- a certificate in Deep Tissue Massage,
- a certificate in Trigger Point Massage
- a Practitioners Diploma in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, all of them are FHT Accredited.
Clients and I believe I deliver an excellent service. That said, I can assure I make an effort every day to maintain the level of the services as high as possible.
I enjoy working with my clients so that they can improve their quality of life.
I am a practitioner with wide experience, offering my services in Bristol City Centre. These services are Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage to help you get better.
It is my goal to provide a space of relax, healing and rehabilitation. Here at Rehab and Heal client’s individual needs are at the top of my list and specialise in creating extremely tailored treatments drawing upon a wealth of experience. I consider each client must have a unique treatment that helps to heal and decrease any particular ache and pain. This is why it is very important to develop a bespoke solution.
At Rehab and Heal I offer a variety of body treatments:
it is a full body massage or if you prefer, it can be performed exclusively on back head and feet. This treatment aims to ease away aches and pains and promote soothing relaxation and de-stressing. The duration of the treatment is 1 hour and the cost is £45. This treatment is the most common and focuses entirely on relaxation. It also brings a long list of other benefits such as:
- improvement of the sleeping pattern,
- better flexibility and move range,
- reduction of muscle spasms,
- depression decreasing.
The Swedish Massage will help also to get better if you suffer from conditions such as:
- immune system issues,
- blood pressure,
- muscular tension and migraines.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage:
This treatment is designed to improve the flow of your lymphatic system and to improve your general health. Its length is 1 hour and the cost is £45.
The “Lymphatic System” shapes the network of vessels which transport the Lymph Fluid around the body and drains it back into the blood. The Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage activates the Lymph Fluid in the body.
The massage therapist applies very light pressure and long, rhythmic strokes intending to increase the flow of the lymph fluid and to decrease the toxins in the body.
In a few words, the Lymphatic Drainage Massage can be beneficial on your general health because the lymph system is part of your body’s immune system.
Deep Tissue Massage:
This session is an invigorating deeper massage, perfect for easing tight and sore muscles. Its length is 1 hour and the cost of the treatment is £45.
I would like to explain to you a bit, how in my Bristol Massage Therapy, I release a muscle knot on your neck and shoulders performing the Deep Tissue Technique.
What I will be doing, and most people know it as breaking up a muscle knot, is in reality, breaking up a muscle adhesion.
I will start, just like in every other Massage, warming up the body and area of the body that I will treat, and I need to do this because generally, muscle knots lay deep.
Warming up your neck and shoulders will let me get through the muscle knots from the top layers of connective tissue in the muscle.
I will perform long effleurage strokes, light movements as a Swedish Massage to start getting ready the affected area.
I will warm up the trapezius and I will start working deeper on your muscles trying to get into the suboccipital as well.
As a Massage Therapist, I got the ability to lose your muscles knots layer-by-layer rather than in one go. This way, the release of the knot will be more subtle because the way of working on it is incremental.
Focusing on the knot
Focusing on the affected area I will start noticing and feeling the adhesion, and that is the moment where I will start working all along the muscle.
Once detected the knot, I will start using my elbow and forearm to release it.
Afterwards, like with any other body treatment, I will cool down the area.
What wax/oil I use for massage therapy?
For Swedish Massage you can choose between grapeseed oil or Songbird Massage Wax. For Deep Tissue, I use high-quality grapeseed oil.

“Monika gives the best massage I have had and I have had a lot. Her massages are the perfect combination of deep tissue and relaxation with some stretches too.
