FAQs

Find out what Trigger Point Therapy is and how it can help with headaches, and shoulder, neck, and back pain.

What should I expect during a massage?

You can expect to disrobe to your comfort level and lie on a massage table under a sheet. The therapist will use techniques such as kneading, gliding, and rubbing to manipulate your body’s muscles and soft tissues.

How often should I get a massage?

It depends on the individual’s needs and goals. Some people may benefit from a massage once a week, while others may only need a massage once a month. It’s best to discuss your needs and goals with a therapist to determine the frequency of massage that’s right for you.

Will a massage be painful?

A massage should not be painful, but some pressure may be used to release tension in the muscles. If you feel discomfort or pain during the massage, let the therapist know immediately, and they will adjust the pressure or technique as needed.

How long is a typical massage session?

A regular massage session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes but can be shorter or longer, depending on the individual’s needs and goals.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage therapy inappropriate?

Certain medical conditions may make massage therapy unsuitable, such as certain types of cancer, blood clots, or fever. It’s important to let your therapist know about any medical conditions or injuries you have before the massage so that they can adjust the massage accordingly.

Will my insurance cover massage therapy?

Coverage for massage therapy can vary depending on your insurance plan. You should check with your insurance provider to see if massage therapy is covered under your plan.

How to choose a good massage therapist?

You can check the therapist’s qualifications, read reviews, check if they are licensed, and ask for recommendations from friends and family.

This is my first session. What should I expect from you?

If it is your first session with me, I will ask you some questions during the consultation to help me tailor the treatment to your needs. Then, on the massage table, I will cover you with a cotton sheet throughout the treatment, and I will uncover the part of your body that will be treated at that time.

What oils do you use?

You can choose between grape seed oil or Songbird Massage Wax for Swedish Massage and Trigger Point. For Deep Tissue, I use high-quality grape seed oil.

What do you do with the information given during the consultation?

The information collected during your consultation is just used to tailor your treatment. Such information will be securely stored in my records, with me as the only person accessing it.

Can I receive treatment if I suffer from a condition?

Please, speak to me if you suffer from any condition so we can discuss whether the treatment is suitable for you or if you need further advice from your GP.
